Songs of the Pogo
Nine performers tell stories acting out the parts and singing songs written by Walt Kelly and Norman Monath. Back in 1956, the verses found in Kelly’s daily POGO newspaper comic strips, were gleaned, washed, buttoned into their little jackets, and with new hair combs and lunches sent on their way to Mr. Norman Monath with many instructions about how to handle themselves in the event that the music master tried to start anything. 65 years later, Kelly and Monath’s songs and stories performed by the Possum Players have been once again unleased to a public thirsty for a few laughs and some hummable tunes.
