The People we serves tells the history of Western North Carolina Aids Project and inspirational stories of several extraordinary individuals, from all walks of life in our WNC community, that have been affected by HIV and substance use.

FRANCINE CAVANAUGH have been making films for over 20 years. Her film ON COAL RIVER (Directed with Adams Wood) premiered at AFI/Silverdocs, and was official selection of over 30 other film festivals including Hamptons International Film Festival, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, and MountainFilm in Telluride. Nominated for an IFP/Gotham Award, the film went on to air on Outside Television, screen on Capitol Hill, and at film venues in over 70 cities across the US.

Her previous feature film, BOOM - THE SOUND OF EVICTION (Directed with A. Mark Liiv,) followed the social repercussions of San Franciscoʼs original dot-com boom.

She has recently collaborated with the Climate Listening Project on a web series with Moms Clean Air Force/Environmental Defense Fund as well as short social media documentaries for Planet Prescription, A documentary and series of 6 short videos for Planet Prescription, and a short documentary and a series short videos for Western North Carolina Aids Project.
