Tone, like many country people, has escaped his hometown. Determined to start a new life in the city of Sydney, he is plagued by one painful memory. His girlfriend Esther and the conflicting views on faith that drove them apart.

His rationality starts to slip as an encounter with a deranged street ranter turns into a premonition of an impending apocalypse. He is forced to choose between his old safe life or a new life of opportunity.
