Als die Welle brach ... / As the wave broke

The odyssey of a woman (40 years old) on the almost hopeless search for a life that does not seem like hell, after suffering the most terrible abuse and loss of her only consolation. She finds the answer for a life-affirming path beyond all clichés, until the wave breaks. Her key of success: unconditional love and freedom.

Director

Alexandra Bekiou

My name is Alexandra Bekiou, I am 46 years old and I have been involved in filmmaking for over 7 years. Since I had the opportunity to help everywhere on the set, I learned the truss independently at the focus of assistant director and location manager. My goal was to take part of a biography filmed at some point. I have a good empathy, I have a creative, photographic eye, I like working with actors very much and I encourage them during the filming, because above all I want to express feelings with facial expressions and gestures. In this film I separated the different scenes by chapter headings. The voice-over of the two actors, actress Katerina Giannakopoulou and actor, and co-author, Michael Marwitz, were words and wisdom from my father. There is only one dialogue scene in the entire film. My goal was to show feelings and thoughts without direct language. I also plan to make my feature film out of it in the near future. Through this biography I would like to have the content filmed in such a way that abused people can see that freedom and unconditional love could be a redeeming goal, and that they are therefore not necessarily forced to spend time of their remaining life in the world having to consider themselves in a victim role.
