Animated short film
All films entered in this category are under 20 minuets in length.
 
An animated film is defined as a film in which characters’ performances are created using a frame-by-frame technique, a significant number of the major characters are animated, and animation figures in no less than 75 percent of the running time.
 
All forms of animation: – 2D Animation, 3D Animation, Motion Graphics, Stop Motion are accepted in this category.
 
If the film is submitted in the shorts category and the length is greater than this definition stipulates, GIFF will change the category to animated short feature or feature, and the submitter will be required to pay the fee increase before the film is considered.
 
Failure to do so will mean that the film will not be considered for the festival and all fees paid will be forfeited.

All entries will be assessed for the festival and for TV broadcast. Even if your film is not selected for the festival it may be aired on broadcast TV throughout the USA, reaching 50 million homes. If your film is suitable, our Broadcasting Company will contact you, and if you agree, they will air your film.

Films submitted in the Shorts category and the length is greater than 20 min, we will change the category and the Submitter will be required to pay the balance before consideration.
